About the Artist:

Franz Marc is a German Expressionist and used cubist style and employed bold red and vivid blue colors.  Marc used bright colors and simplified, primitive shapes to represent emotions and the feelings of the animals themselves.  He painted in a stylised manner, blending the animals into the background of the painting, to portray his ideas that animals are one with nature and life itself.

Artwork Description:

In this painting also known as Small Fabulous Beast (Small Mythical Creatures); there is a small creature either a representation of a bird or a fox, however the perspective is as if the artist has done a mountain stroke in the background and a window looking through a grass land and the central focus is an animal.  There are some wavy strokers representing beaks of a bird in blue.
